I spent today delivering flowers. It’s a side job. Here are 7 thoughts from the day:
1) Everyone is happy to get flowers. No matter what, people always say “Thank you!”
2) Except for the few Crankies out there. One lady grimaced and said, “Another one? We got one yesterday.” Excuse me while I take your unwanted flower arrangement down the street. I know of several shut-ins who would have loved the attention.
3) People drive like idiots. Especially around Christmas. If you see someone with a clearly marked delivery van, get off my bumper. Odds are, I’m looking for a street sign or house numbers.
4) Buy and Install some decent house numbers. Goodness people. Get big numbers, and put them in an easy to see location. Your next delivery person will love you.
5) I get queasy delivering “Get Well Soon” flowers. I’m kinda worried that the person in that house is contagious and I’m going to catch it.
6) People will come to the door wearing anything. Or, in some cases, next to nothing. Put some clothes on.
7) Finally, It really is okay to say, “Merry Christmas!” You just gave them a flower arrangement. They’re not going to take you to task for “forcing your religious beliefs on them.”

Merry Christmas Everyone!
